Former Valley County grants administrator Lois R. Van Hoover was sentenced Wednesday to up to 10 years in prison, according to Attorney General Lawrence Wasden.

Two years ago, organizers with the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games hoped to raise at least $23 million in cash donations, hire a staff of around 100 people and bring as many as 3,000 athletes to Boise for the international event. Analysts with the Idaho Department of Commerce said the Games could bring $42 million to the state.

Q: I thought there was a pet cemetery in the general vicinity of the Crow Inn. It was on a hill overlooking the road to Lucky Peak. Do I recall correctly, or was there never a cemetery of that sort?
